Member Associations

ABA is an alliance of the Arizona Chapters of the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), and the Building Chapter Associated General Contractors (AGC). Established in 1994, ABC & AGC merged to form the Arizona Builders’ Alliance to serve the entire construction industry with management education, government relations and apprentice/craft training.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Southern Arizona Chapter promotes the art and science of the practice of architecture by encouraging design excellence in the built environment through public outreach, continuing education, community events, honors and awards programs, and professional advocacy. The AIA Southern Arizona Chapter supports an active liaison with The University of Arizona College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.


The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is the voice of America's engineering industry. Council members – numbering more than 5,000 firms representing more than 500,000 employees throughout the country – are engaged in a wide range of engineering works that propel the nation's economy, and enhance and safeguard America's quality of life. These works allow Americans to drink clean water, enjoy a healthy life, take advantage of new technologies, and travel safely and efficiently. The Council's mission is to contribute to America's prosperity and welfare by advancing the business interests of member firms.

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) was founded in March 1948 by the specification writers of government agencies who came together to improve the quality of construction specification quality so that it could meet the demands of the post-war construction boom.  Development of specifications best practices, promulgating standards/formats, professional education, and certification were cornerstones of the Institute

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. NAWIC has a membership of more than 4,500 and approximately 167 chapters, with chapters in almost every U.S. state. In NAWIC’s 55 years of service to its membership, NAWIC has advanced the causes of all women in construction, from tradeswomen to business owners.

Southern Arizona Chapter
The mission of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Society for Design Administration (SDA) is to promote the exchange of ideas and to educate its members in the related disciplines of design firm administration. For over 46 years, the Society for Design Administration (SDA), an affiliate of The American Institute of Architects, has promoted education and best practices in management and professional standards of design firm administrative personnel.  SDA Membership stretches across the United States and Canada and is composed of personnel in the design profession, including architecture, engineering, construction, landscape, and interior design.
